With the retirement of her main horse, Sarah took on part ownership of a quarter horse gelding. A situation hindering reliability and often leading to frustration and confusion for both horse & human. Through sole ownership and Heath's guidance, Sarah restored consistency of expectation for her horse, bettering her gelding's expression and performance.

I have always had low confidence in learning and furthering my horsemanship skills until I was lucky enough to meet Heath. Most great horseman are exactly that, great with horses but lack personal skills and aren’t great teachers, which can lead to nerves and not asking those much needed questions you want to as the student. This is however not the case with Heath. He is a very knowledgeable and wonderful horseman that has the rare ability to teach and connect with both his human students as well as the horse. He’s very patient, kind, caring, warm and extremely humble.

I have been a student of Heath’s now for the past 2 years and feel very privileged to have the opportunity to learn from him. I highly recommend Heath Porteous for anyone who is wanting to learn with their horse and develop great skills to enjoy all round horsemanship in any discipline that will keep you happy, your horse happy and above all keep you both safe. I truly believe through my experience, there is no one like Heath teaching in the horse industry and I will always keep coming back to further my education and my horses' with him for the many years to come! It’s a wonderful feeling to finish up a lesson feeling confident, excited and truly inspired!
